Atheros 5416 Drivers For Mac
Well last night i found those drivers inside the Macos Update and i Try to load it on my 10.4.3. But What i obtain is an error in my IONetoworkFamily, the system get me an error message. This morning i restore my old IONETworkFamily kext file and my ethernet card work again.
I´m noob in the macos, not linux, can anyone explain how can i install those driver for my atheros card in my system. Thanx in advance.
Could you be more specific about the error? Did you repair the permissions after copying the 10.4.5 extension to you /System/Library/Extensions folder?

I installed the atheros drivers(IO80211.kext and IONetworkingFamily.kext) onto my mac and it doesn't even detect the wireless card. Did i do something wrong?

I assume you did fix the ownership and the permissions of the.kext right? Perhaps you could try to boot into windows first with wireless enabled and the restart into osx. Perhaps your card needs some strange powerup sequence only available in windows.
Laptops do have some problems like these. For instance, my bluetooth module is only detected by osx if I boot into windows first.
A cold start into osx will not work. By the way, I didn't install the IONetworkingFamily.kext from 10.4.5. Still using the 10.4.3 one.
Well, i've had a go at this lately, and the results are wishy-washy at best. Hp 2100 printer driver download. My current experiences are with the MacBoox C2D 2.0GHz. After spending a number of hours installing x64 editions of Vista and XP, I have concluded that neither are usable at this point. There *are* some Vista64 drivers for the AR5008 series of wireless adapters, however even though they installed properly, they will not detect any wireless signal. Sound seems to be the other issue, and unfortunately the Intel/Sigmatel Vista drivers do not even install on the Macbook On the Vista x86 driver front, I have had some level of sucess with the wireless card, (Macbook Atheros 5416). Much like the Vista x64 driver, the Vista x86 driver does not seem to function properly, and will not pick up any wireless signals.
However, there is a driver for Windows XP that will install, and it does function for what little time I kept Vista on the machine. You may find it here Extract the executable, and you will find a WIN2KXP directory that contains the files you *might* be looking for. I also attempted to use the Intel/Sigmatel Vista drivers, and again they do not function, then I tried the XP drivers, and the machine blue-screened. Because of these experiences, i'm going to hold off on Vista until a work set of drivers are found.
